Sun is out and just a bit brisk. Cool ocean breezes wash away the smell the city sometimes gets if it stays too still for too long. There are benefits to being on the western side of the building, even if it isn't the best view.

Macworld has left. The streets seem a bit less crowded but at the same time the feeling of an increased mass intellect has diminished. On to National Auto Dealer Association. The streets will feel a tad more sleezy. No I will not give you a deal on that stop trying to haggle.

I am in So Cal this weekend. My grandpa just died and he was so close to me. He was the corner stone of our family. Everyone has taken it so hard. My mom especially. I have had so much going on in my life at the same time she is having a really hard time. I wish she wouldn't let the ignorance and insanity of the people that obsess over me get to her. It's not her fault people should get on with their lives and move on and leave my poor family alone in this worst era we have ever faced. Some people are just so selfish and insentive to others.

I missed my family more than anything in the world and I am so happy to be home with them right now.

I have a date tonight. I'm excited. I have had a few up here in San Fran already. It seems, if it is possible, that people up here are more flakes then there are in So Cal. If that can make sense. I' mnot sure. It's just i "know" so many people up here now but I never seem to see or hang out with them anymore. I don't know maybe I am paranoid I won't make new friends or something. Not sure. All I know is I need at least one person that I can feel stable with. Granted I just moved up here on August 22nd. I mean, it takes time to find a friend of a friend. But I need one right now. I miss having that closeness I had with some of the people back home. But I am where I am supposed to be. Look at me, I quit a high paying job, a family that supported me, and a group of friends that loved me to become this; poor, no job, and no friends. But yet, I persevier. I am making it. I am sticking to what I have to do. I think this city is good for me. I have yet to be "comfortable" at being gay. I still am very abrehensive at the ideas that I am gay in the gay area and no where else. It it hard for me when being gay is so acceptable everywhere in San Francisco. It really is a good self examination time for me, to come to terms with who I am in the inside and not trying to hide it from the outside. I want to be the person I want to be but am still resticted with the Inland Empire ideas that I have been brought up with. That I can be whoever I want to be at home, alone, but when anyone is looking I have to be that perfect italian catholic that everyone wants me to be. It is just hard. But I am gettting throught it.

so i am coming back down to so cal this weekend. I can not wait. I miss my family so much! I miss my friend mindy a heck of a lot too!!!! Yes I miss Jess and Allison as well don't feel left out I have thought of you guys everyday as well. I can't wait! My roomates are going to gay day but I really dont want to go. So i wont. Disney land is so, eh, for me now that I have been so many times and know so many damn people that work there. I just want to spend the time with those close to me. Because no one is close to me in san francisco.

Today I went into Walgreen’s. I bought a box of crayons and a booklet of paper that was made for kindergarteners with the over sized lines and dotted spaces. I got home, poured a glass of milk, and sat on my floor. I took off my shoes and socks. I opened up that box of crayons and poured them all over my floor. I picked one up, and just drew. My circles had edges and my triangles had four sides. But I was happy.

I don’t think I read the memo about how expensive it was to live on your own in the bay area. But I am compensating. I haven’t been to a restaurant in almost a month, driving me c-r-a-z-y. I don’t think I have shopped so much at a grocery store in my entire life. I discovered this northern branch of SAFEWAY to get me through the hunger years. Yes that was a silly TV spoof line. Plus my roommates love to venture over to Trader Joes for the “real” foods. They always buy Hummus, which always makes me think of mglboy . Miss that little guy to.

I’ve been singing show tunes a lot wicked. Maybe I just want to be popyouoolar. I know, I said it. My ipod is the in thing here in San Fran so I have no problem belting out a few verses on the MUNI. Last night I was swinging by my legs off the hand bar up top in an MUNI M car and I got away with it because I told everyone I was from LA. They just smiled and went “ohhhh”

My nachos didn’t turn out how I thought they would just now. I had to smother them in an outrageous amount of taco sauce to cover up the stiff cheesiness of them. Guess I failed the Chicano test.

Movie for the night: Love Actually

In addition to the movie I will be consuming a nice bottle of Plum wine from Trader Joes.
